The NYO Solo Competition 2016 final round is scheduled on Sunday November 6, 2016 at 5:00 pm at the NYO New Youth Orchestra Training and Performing Center at 10855 Sorrento Valley Road #2, San Diego, CA. 92121. Since this is a public concert, family and friends of the contestants and NYO members are invited to this event free of charge.

The official starting time for the finals is 5:00 pm, but there will be an opportunity for each participant to warm up with the pianist before this event starts. Finalist may show up as early as 3:00 pm to warm up and prepare for the competition, but call time is officially 4:00 pm.  All participants are required to hire a piano accompanist on their own and this service is not provided or paid by NYO New Youth  Orchestra. If you need assistance to find a pianist, please contact your private teacher so he or she may find an appropriate accompanist.  If a competition participant fails for any reason to not produce a pianist at the time of the competition, they must forfeit their position in the competition. The music selection that was assigned from the beginning of this competition for each category, must be performed at the finals. All finalists are required to bring both solo and piano part to the competition, but the piece must be performed by memory during the competition performance.
